As all apron enthusiasts know, aprons began as a functional item. When women only had a few dresses to wear, and each one had to be laboriously washed by hand, it was important to keep them clean as long as possible. One way to do that was by wearing an apron. This simple piece of cloth that could be tied around the waist and neck served to simplify and improve the lives of the women who wore them.
This simple garment can be just as useful to today’s woman. Whether you wear your apron for cooking, cleaning, gardening, or playing, an apron serves your needs with style. But there is one class of apron that stands above the rest: the apron with pockets.
Aprons with pockets are impressively useful. Once you start wearing one, you will probably never go back to aprons without! Next time you are cooking, and you notice that are out of this ingredient or that, imagine you are wearing your cute little apron with a pocket. In that pocket you have stashed a small notebook and pencil, and you can actually write that ingredient on your shopping list so you won’t let it slip your mind.
Aprons with pockets are even more essential when cleaning up around the house. You can carry rags or towels, or small items like toothbrushes for cleaning in the crevices. Or if you have kids (along with lots of toys with small parts), you can leave your apron pockets free for picking up those little toy parts as you walk by them.
As long as there are wives and mothers in the world, aprons will never outlive their usefulness. And aprons with pockets are the most useful of them all.
